Inquiry, Information and Technology - Middle Years and High School

Through the lens of the Saskatchewan Curriculum’s “constructing understanding through inquiry” teachers will examine how inquiry can be an integral part of each subject area. There will be a specific focus on Living Sky’s clarification of the ELA Middle Years inquiry outcome and the High School outcomes which incorporate the inquiry indicators, an introduction to new resources and some hands-on experience with apps and technology tools to support inquiry learning.

  • around the room - (name, school, grades taught)
  • around your table - describe a time you learned something new - something for which you had little background knowledge (feelings, strategies, aha moments, successful or not?)

  • share our own knowledge and understanding about inquiry
  • define inquiry
  • understand the Saskatchewan Curriculum's Inquiry Framework
  • explore Living Sky School Division Resources

Write around Text - 1) respond to the questions on the paper around the room 2) meet with a small group around one of the questions and together summarize the key points that were made. Note your key ideas on Padlet.
